Damascus Travel Forum

I will be in Damascus in the early morning on 6:00 July 8, and from Damascus I have to go to Aleppo directly, Could anyone suggest how can we get Aleppo from Damascus? Is there trains or long-trip bus run between the two cities? The travel agency say there are flights, but only two flights one is in the very early morning departure on 5:00 (it's too early for us to catch the flight) one is in the afternoon, but too late for us, because we have to get Aleppo in the afternoon.

Any comment about the transportation from Damascus to Aleppo will be appricated.

you dont need to worry at all, 'cause buses from Damascus to Aleppo are going on every hour. Just go to Karaj Bulman (Karaj Harasta) station in Damascus and there are lots and lots of agencies that will offer you a bus to Aleppo. The ticket is about 200-300 syrian lira and you will be in Aleppo in 5 hours. The road s very good, it;s a highway, so dont worry.

We caught an early bus (about 8) and it was a good trip. Modern bus and the roads were good.

Got to Aleppo in time to haved a late lunch, do some sight seeing then have a drink and watch the sunset over the ruins, then a late meal - great day.

It seem that taking bus is good idea.
I have another questions:
1. can we pay the taxi driver by Euro directly?
2. how much is the exchage rate of Euro/SP roughly?
3. Could anyone confirm that the bus from Damascus to Aleppo departure every one hour?
4. The bus station exactly name is Karaj Bulman (Karaj Harasta),Harasta Bullman. (just want the taxi driver know the right station in Damascus)
