I was in the main street November 07 and saw some really good shortish wellington type boots in a very stylish sports shop young and vibrant they were purple and green flower covered simalar shape to blunstone from oz. Can anyone remember the name of the shop?

You probably mean a shop on Laugarvegur/Bankastraeti.
It could be the 66 North shop. On their website are some pictures of it : http://www.66north.com/about-us/photogalleries/66n There was a shop "101 sport" with a big Nike logo on its roof on Laugarvegur 4-6, but it's closed now, because the building is renovated (or demolished).
