| Vienna | Spanish Riding School Posted: Sat July 5, 2008 12:56 PM UTC
Unfortunately there are no shows in August. And on the dates I'll be in Vienna, there are only guided tours (even no morning trainings). Is it still worth seeing or I better do it next visit?
Thanks |

Hi,
it highly depends on how much you are a horse-addict! If you are satisfied to watch the white horses standing in their stables and looking out of the windows, it might be enough for your passion. But,as already mentioned,if you would like to see the morning training or some kind of horse-show, it would be rather better to wait till the school opens again in autumn!

The horses are extraordinarily beautiful but that is easy for me to say as I lucked out on my trip to Vienna and arrived the day before an actual performance which was something I will certainly never forget. If you can't have that, then probably a guided tour is the next best thing. The place is chock full of atmosphere and the gift shop sells souvenirs that are far better quality than the usual things you buy in these places. You really have nothing to lose by going to the Spanish Riding School as you will surely want to see the Palace anyway and the Riding School is right there in the palace.
