Norway Norway by motorhome

I'm planning to visit Norway by motorhome (camper) in next August.
Is it any advice or tips (difficulty to drive, uphill or narrow roads, dangers etc.) about the rural roads to fjords and the journey from Oslo-Bergen-Stryn-Trondheim etc. especially for this kind of vehicle?
Thank you in advance.

Some of the roads in the fjord region are pretty steep / narrow / curvy, yes. Driving on these roads isn't dangerous ;o) - but motorhome drivers often create dangerous situations here, when they drive too slowly (don't follow the speed limit) and people driving behind get impatient and overtake them! So I'd advise you to *not* drive too slowly, and stop often allowing others to pass you.

The roads might be winding and hilly, but the quality is good and you'll be OK just like thousands of others that visit us each summer. Good advice to pull over and let the traffic pass you ;o)
Welcome to Norway and have a great trip!

Could you, please, share your planned rout with us?
We (3 members family) are also planning to travel to Norway by Camper. This is our first trip by camper so we have no experience on planning routes for such a trip.

Thanks in advice.

Stryn to Trondheim will be the most difficult part, although Bergen to Stryn has more traffic. My best advice is to take the Molde - Sunndalsøra - Oppdal - Trondheim route rather than the Molde - Orkanger - Trondheim route. The road between Molde and Orkanger is terrible - extremely narrow - and generally not good. It looks longer through Sunndalsøra but its not much longer, has a better road and is prettier.

and i forgot to say...many tend to drive in the middle of the road around corners, very dangerous, please keep to your side of the road, many times i nearly meet cars front to front beacause they dont keep to their side of the road, since they want to see whats around the corner...

Hi I don't know the details of your itinerary, but if you are going Stryn - Geiranger - Trollstigen - Åndalsnes, very reckomended you will drive some amazing roads that can be quite steep, but totally worth it.

Just remember to use low gear on the downhill streaches, to allow the engine to break instead of using the brake constantly, a lot of people unfamiliar to these kinds of roads have their car/camper break down in the steep hills because they use the break all the way down. What happens then is that the breaks gets extremely hot and burn.

As you enigne break and enjoy the view remember to let faster cars past you like FletteMette suggested, but don't drive fast downhill, because the enigine won't be able to break enough for you if you do.

That's it really, not exactly rocketscience :)
Enjoy your trip! Welcome to Norway!
