This is from the Tourist Office web site

http://www.ullapool.com/events-diary.html

I should find your way there when you arrive - Ullapool is not a very big place as I recall- and there may be more info available.

Hi Lisa, As Ranger mentioned there is not a lot going on in Ullapool. We used it as a base to explore the national park a bit North. Stayed at the Riverside Inn and drank a few pints of ale at the Seaforth.

The Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falls of Measach are close by and very picturesque. There is cool bridge over the gorge and a viewing platform.

I bit farther along South on the coast are the Inverewe Gardens.

There can be a lot going on in Ullapool, even though it is a small village. For a 4 year old, maybe not as much.
Watch boats at the harbour - the ferry coming in is always a good sight.
Skim stones from the beach to the right of the ferry pier (not in front of the shops!)
Climb Ullapool Hill
Swim in the fantastic pool
Eat at The Seaforth, The Ceilidh Place, Argyll, Caley, and some others.
There's a good selection of shops - some touristy, some crafty and some utilitarian - Loch Broom Hardware is always fun. Most shops are very welcoming. Avoid the newsagent though, they are rather rude and you definitely won't be welcome with a child in there.
There's a good 9 hole golf course too.
