| Paris | Hotel near Montparnasse Train Station Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 06:49 PM UTC
We need a reasonable hotel near to the station - can anyone help? We have two heavy suitcases and just need one night at a hotel that we can walk to from Gare Montparnasse. We will take a taxi to CDG the next day but would like to spend our last night in Paris. Having used the metro to get to Gare Montparnasse from our apartment when we left Paris, we know how many steps there are in metro, and couldn't do that again! But, we can't really afford a taxi to our hotel and then another one to CDG.
Any suggestions? |

hi there...
I looked on google maps for you & there are 2 or 3 that are close by Comfort Hôtel Montparnasse‎ 54 reviews - more info » 37, boulevard du Montparnasse 75006 Paris, France http://www.comfort-montparnasse.com/ OR Hotel Ibis Paris Gare Montparnasse‎ 3 reviews - more info » 71, Boulevard Vaugirard 75015 Paris, France 01 43 20 89 12accorhotels.com‎ (these look like the cheapest options)!!!!!

I stayed at the Hotel Timhotel which is right across the street from the Gare Montparnasse. My only complaint was that the desk clerks were extremely rude, but once we got past that, the hotel itself was rather good for the price. You can check it out on www.venere.com and see some recent reviews. There are many hotels in the immediate area of the station. The Ibis is another that comes to mind only, I know it is more expensive than the Timhotel. Also, you will have no trouble whatsoever finding the Timhotel as it is very visible when you come out of the station.
As regards getting to CDG easily, you might like to try the Air France Shuttle which leaves very regularly from outside the Gare Montparnasse as well. Just pay the driver on board. I think it is about 13 or 14 euro per person. It will still be much cheaper than a cab.

Thank you both for your advice. We will definately take the Air France Shuttle and save some money.
