Buenos Aires Where to stay and flights
Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 04:21 PM UTC
Hi there - Is the best place to stay Recoleta? I'm looking for a good time and fun nightlife. Can you please suggest a nice 3 and 4 star hotel in that area. Also, is there a direct flight from BA to Floripa? Thanks!!

No suggestion for the hotel, for Floripa have a look at

or (longer but much cheaper)
http://www.voegol.com.br

btw it's pretty cold these days in Floripa, I mean.. it's a little bit early for the beach :-)

I've just seen an other topic.. you want to go to Floripa for NewYear's Eve, isn't it? I did it once, it was nice, i've been at Barra da Lagoa, an apartment for a week.. New Year's Eve and Carnival are the most expensive weeks in Brasil, so you'd better book early to hope to spend less.

As for nightlife it really depends on what you are looking for. Yes there is nightlife in the Recoleta but if you want bars, and dance clubs then you might be better off staying in Palermo SoHo/Hollywood. Here are some hotel suggestions for both barrios. Recoleta: The Bel Air Arenales 1462, Art Hotel Azcuenaga 1268 Barrio Norte/Recoleta, Loi Suites Recoleta Lopez Vicente 1955, Design Hotel Marcelo T de Alvear 1695, and the Apart Recoleta Guido 1948. In Palermo the BoBo Hotel Guatemala 4882, Home Hotel Honduras 5860, SoHo All Suites Honduras 4762, Mine Hotel Jose Ignacio Gorriti 4770, Miravida Soho Darregueyra 2050 and finally Five Cool Rooms Honduras 4742.

These should be a good start in finding a place to stay. And there is always the option of an apartment as well unless you just love hotels :))

suerte

Hi,
We went to BA last year and I thought Palermo Viejo was a great part of the city. It has beautifi building, really individual shops (great trendy clothes and funky shop interiors). The bars and restaurants are cool too eg there is one where every room as a different bolour, the bar area is a nice mix of ultra trendy and antiques. The area is very clean, there are trees on the streets and it is just a really nice place to chill but also have a buzzy time out and about. It is not far from the rest of the city either. We will go back this year and loo for a hotels there.

Instead of staying in a hotel I recommend staying in a rented flat...my experiences was so much fun and you feel less like a tourist... try this apartmental rental company http://www.buenosairesstay.com
