Hi,

I got married last month of April in Sitges, a charming mediterranean town that is at 35 Km. at the South of Barcelona. It was a non religious wedding made in the Palau Maricel, that is a very beautiful building. Photos http://www.panoramio.com/user/138691/tags/Palau%20Maricel
Contact http://www.sitgestour.com/jaddresses/palau-maricel-5.html

Later, we celebrated the party on the terrace of a hotel in Sitges, with a wonderful view of the town http://www.ahmediterraneo.com/presentacion/esp/termira.php

About the rates, the price of a celebration is about 125 - 150 euros per person as minimun.

If you want to get married in the city of Barcelona, el Saló del Consell de Cent (http://www.gencat.net/turistex_nou/bcnvirtual2002/nodo68.htm), in the city council, is a very good place for doing the non religious cerimony. And if you're looking for a church, I would advise you Santa María del Mar (http://www.gencat.net/turistex_nou/bcnvirtual2002/nodo66.htm) or Santa Maria del Pi (http://www.parroquiadelpi.com/angles/index3.htm), both of them are gothic.

Good luck!

Pili

incidentally I was married as well in Sitges, but many years ago so my advice will not be up to date

do you want a real wedding or just kind of blessing and a party? I'm saying this because being married in Spain may be a real nightmare if any of you both are Spanish. Lost of paperwork and lots of planning in advance. Finding a nice restaurant at affordable prices will be the least of your worries, as there is a big offer and they obviously will not ming from where are you provided you pay. But getting all the papers on place will be a very different issue. Not wiling to burst your bubble, but better you know

You will find lots of advice and the experiences of others here, including advice from a professional wedding planner:

(now that TA and VT merged I guess it's fine to post this kind of links ;o))

Congratulations!!
