| Malaysia | Entering Malaysia via Thailand - what's the procedure ? Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 12:25 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I wanna include Malaysia in my up-and-coming vacation. I'm thinking of entering from Thailand, either by road or ferry, and wanted to know what's the procedure for entering Malaysia. Do they stamp your passport during immigration or scan it ? I heard some people had problems with passports that were not stamped - anyone heard something about that ? If I don't get stamped at the border, where can I get it once I'm in the country ? Are my details entered into some computer system in the border crossing so that I can prove I'm legit ? And another thing - the official site says I need to show proof of getting a yellow fever vaccine, anyone know anything about that ? was anyone ever asked to show such proof ? Thanks guys, Andrea |

hi andrea...
of coourse your passport will be stamped at the border crossing from thailand... you did not state what nationality you are in your homepage and the forum... you may need a visa to enter malaysia depending on your nationality... check my homepage for details on entry requirements... there is no need for a yellow fever vaccination... ~chia

The crossing is very easy as many people staying in Thailand use Malasia as a passport extension crossing. I don't remember Yellow Fever shots, but this was almost 2 years ago. If this is the case, it should be very easy to get the shots in Thailand for a fraction of the cost in the U.S.. I don't know where you are from. Just south of the Thai border is Penang/Goergetown in Malaysia. Very cool.
