| Canberra | accomodation Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 09:32 AM UTC
I am looking for accomodation in Canberra just for one night in the second week of July, near this address -- Learmonth Drive,Kambah ACT,2902,Australia.
Can anyone suggest in which area I should look for accomodation,or can someone suggest a particular place that is budget, clean and safe for a single woman. Please hurry, since my travel dates are nearing. Vpas |

otherwise i would suggest the City Walk - which is right in the centre and close to the bus station so you can take a bus where you want to go
and are not stuck out in kambah all the time the city walk - where i have stayed - was basic - and cheap

I have no accommodation tip but wanted to give you the link to public transportation:
http://www.action.act.gov.au/default.html In the routes and timetables section you can see that there are two or three routes from the city centre to Kambah, and the trip takes about 45 minutes. Just by googling I found the Kambah Inn: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=de&cr=countr ... and this B&B: http://www.edwil.com/ I can only agree that Canberra is rather a safe place, I walked around there alone at any time of the night.

As someone who used to live in Learmonth Drive - I can confirm that the others have been correct - Edwil House is a bed and breakfast in walking distance - good place for a lone woman to stay. The people here will be helpful to know how to get around. Kambah Inn is a bit cheap - connected to a bar and liquor shop - with a bus stop, little shopping centre. About 3 kms - 3 - 5 mins car ride from Learmonth. The nearest motel is the Country Comfort Greenway. about 1 or 2 kms from Learmonth
