There are direct trains, taking about 10 minutes, and a direct bus (61), taking about 30 minutes. You can check at www.bahn.de. It will certainly be cheaper and faster than a taxi.

http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/international_guests.shtml

is the English bahn.de page link.

Getting a train is very easy, and finding your way around the massive FRA from the train station within it (more or less) is also easy.

To: FRA

There are direct buses. But no direct trains.
Single ticket local public transport is EUR 3,60 (covers buses, trams, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, regional trains).
Connections (from via Frankfurt Hbf) with ICE or IC/EC trains are not covered with this ticket.

Taxi?
~ EUR 20-25

No direct trains? What about ICE 1642,ICE 1548 or RE 4644, to name just three of them. They are all shown as direct trains on the bahn.de site. Is there some construction work, so they passengers have to change trains?

Correction: some direct trains
3 RE trains (6:40 8:42 and 16:19) EUR 3,60
7 ICE trains (7:40 09:38 11:38 13:38 15:38 17:38 23:02) EUR 7,00

If one fits from its departure times use it of course. 8-13 minutes travel time.
