Miami First time to Miami- few questions.
Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 08:04 PM UTC
Hi all,

This will be my first time traveling to Miami, fl. I am looking for idea's for a good hotel to stay at for me and my girlfiend for our first holiday trip together. One concern I have is the noise level. I love to party but I also love to sleep. I want to be close to the action so im thinking of staying on ocean dr or colony so I can walk to the beach or resturants.

Low cost around mid $500's-600s a person booking through expedia fight and hotel from Aug 29th-Sept 2nd.

I have seen these rates for Colony Hotel and Beacon. Both look great from what I can see and our rated decently. Any comments.

Thanks!!!!

If you want quiet and still close to the action and beach, you can stay in Collins before 8th street. This is very quiet and the main action starts at around 8th street. There is a Marriot Hotel on Collins and about 3 or 4 that's really nice and on the Beach.

Thanks Karla,

That should help me alot. Do you know much about the Beacon or Colony Hotel? Are they ok as far as rooms? and is the noise level loud even past 2am?

If you have any other suggestions let me know.

We stayed at the Hilton Bentley on Ocean Dr. over New Years. It's a great location at the south end of South Beach, easily accessible to all of the restaurant and club action. But removed enough to allow for quiet time. Not sure of pricing through Expedia, but it's all-suite and really a nice property. You can check it out on my Miami page...

They are very similar, I don't think there is much of a difference between the two. I'd choose whichever one is cheaper. The location is good, the ocean and beach are awesome on that part of Miami Beach! Lincoln Road is a good place to go shopping or dining. Nexxt is one of my favorite restaurants there. Enjoy!
