Chicago Girl's Weekend in Chicago
Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 02:05 PM UTC
My college friend and I are planning a Girl's Weekend in Chicago on the weekend of July 11th. I have all ready made several reservations but other than dinner, I don't have any night life plans made yet. Any ideas for a couple of girls in their late 30's to early 40's. Although we will mainly be around the Magnificent Mile and Theatre district, we are pretty flexible.

Also, what attire is best for the summer evening in Chicago? What would fit in with the locals?

You may wish to look at some of the following web sites: (1) www.whatsonwhen.com, (2) www.cirquedusoleil.com, (click on the link for "Kooza", at the bottom of the page), (3) http://chicago.metromix.com, (4) www.chicagonightlife.com, (5) www.chicago-scene.com. If you see something that interests you, you can always post another question. Gary

By nightlife, do you mean bars? Entertainment? Bars, I can't help you with but some other ideas would include:

Second City to see a show, I'd recommend booking tickets in advance, or one of the Improv shows

trying your luck at hottix.org, you can get 1/2 price tickets to many shows online or in person at one of their locations, you can look on Friday for Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Might be too late to get good seats but you might see if there's anything available for Wicked or Jersey Boys. There's also some kind of $20-25 lottery for tickets that I've read about

There are jazz and blues clubs, piano bars (Howl at the Moon has been recommended to me but I've not been)

Drink at the Signature Lounge at the Hancock, the best view in Chicago for the price of a drink

We are going to Wicked on Friday night. I was thinking about a Blue's club for Saturday. Thanks for your tips.
