| Chicago | Frankfurt to Chicago fllight July 16 Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 07:05 AM UTC
Hi,
I am looking form someone who speaks Polish and will be travelling from Frankfurt to Chicago on July 16, flight #LH430. My relative who does not speak English will be travelling for the first time from Warsaw, Poland and needs to switch planes in Chicago (and first Frankfurt), and we are hoping to find someone who would be able to lead her towards the correct departure gate. Also, we are looking for a Polish speaker on flight UA6127 from Chicago to Edmonton. Thanks in advance for your help. |

You should also inform Lufthansa of this requirement. There is a good chance they may have a Polish speaker as inflight crew.
Another very worthwhile thing to do is give them a written note in English for Chicago and German for Frankfurt that asks for assistance to their next flight. be sure to have the correct Airline and flight number. I hate to bring up bad memories but, also have a note for arrival in Edmonton that request assitance on leaving Customs.

Dave is absolutely right in his advice regarding a note in English. It would be a good idea to have a note in English for US customs, a note in English requesting assistance after she leaves the International Terminal and customs to go the the departure terminal for her flight to Edmonton. Also one as Dave mentions for Canada customs and the name and address and phone number in Edmonton. Also ask LH to note on her file that she speaks only Polish. She does have a long layover in Chicago so plenty of time to do the change, the more information that UA has espeically in English the easier it is going to be and of course a better travelling experience.
