You will find that most of the places you will want to visit especially the shopping malls and tourist places have access for the disabled. Disability access is required by law in much of Australia now, most especially the places built in, say, the last thirty years or so. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi!
If your going to Adelaide, you can shop at Rundle Mall. Its an open street mall so shops are located down the side of a paved street (no cars are allowed on the street)Its easy to get access to the shops,no escalators, most shops are on the street (one level).Nice place to shop at too!You can have a look at my adelaide VT pages for more info on Rundle Mall if you'd like! Have a wonderful time in Australia, Jasmine :)

Yes. It is the law now that public buildings must be accessable to disabled people, all department stores have lifts and your parents should not experience any difficulty. Some hotels have a few steps at the front entrance but must have a ramp for wheelchairs somewhere , usually alongside the steps.
