| Copenhagen | Dress Code Posted: Mon June 30, 2008 08:08 PM UTC
Hi, Just another question about dress code. I generally dress up when i go out, eg,trousers or a dress is this too much? And i will be travelling in December. Is Dress code different in the winter.
Also i was looking at a few places to go out in ie Dubliner, Vega, and the Copenhagen Jazz House, what are they like to go to during the week, as i have not decided whether to come during the week or over the weekend. Mange Tak |

Danes are fairly informal, but I don't really see how "trousers or a dress" could possibly be too much anywhere (unless you were going to wear both together, perhaps)! The only difference in the winter is that you need to keep WARM, so probably trousers rather than dresses, unless you wear them with thick tights and then probably boots, which can make packing difficult.

you should be fine with your clothes any time a year.
be aware that vega is only open during weekdays if there are any concerts there.

i am on my late 20's, going on 30, this is for my birthday! Have been to Denmark before, but i stayed with Family in Roskilde. I am going with a friend, really looking forward to seeing what the nightlife in Copenhagen is like, compared to Ireland, Does there be many concerts on in December?
If you where going out during the week in Copenhagen where would you go, do there be many people out during the week or is it very quiet.

i´ll rather leave that to other people as i´m not much in to clubbing and i´m currently out of the country 9-10 months a year (off to athens tomorrow) so i´m not really that much in touch with the nightlife scene anymore.
copenhagen jazzhouse has been a favorite for many years for people in their mid and late 20´s though, so you might wanna consider that place.

Barhopping on the Istedgade Street before ending the night at either Vega or Ideal Bar (in the Vega building) Is a great way to spend a night and meet lots of people.

copenhagen crown is near istedgade.
the part of istedgade that is near the station is redlight district, but further up it's a very trendy part of town.

Istedgade is a mile long street with a cool end and a naughty end.
In the end towards the central station you have budget hotels, porn shops and brothels. At the other end towards the Enghave Plads Square (where Vega is) you have lots of cool bars and trendy somewhat alternative shops etc. You can easily spend a whole night working your way down the street towards Vega.
