Hi. I'm from Malaysia.
Me & my other 9 friends are planning to travel either to Phuket / Koh Samui. We're traveling to Thailand for the first time and have no idea which one's better. We're gonna fly there from Malaysia. Reason to travel: to have fun and check out the parties also to shop walk around and mix with locals beach must be clean n nice cleanliness of the hotel is a must which one of the 2 places would any of you recommend? other than that, me & my friends likes to bunk in 2 seperate rooms. Is there any accomodation for us in such a way that we can bunk in 5 people in a room x 2 rooms? Our budget per room (not per pax) is around 1500 THB. Is this possible? if it's not, what would you recommend? we'd prefer a clean hotel / bungalow by the beach / beachfront. Thanks! sincerely, Dela |

Phuket!!!!!
The only way to explain the reasons for this you will have to experience Phuket yourself.. I also think that it is much cleaner and safer then any other areas in Thailand. If you want to chill out and just drink with your friends, stay in Kata or Karon. If the club scene is your thing then Patong is a crazy.. Thailand is primarily designed for the male traveler if your looking to party but you'll have fun... Good Luck

Why dont you try taking the boat to phiphi island? Its just an hr and 30 mins away from phuket.Phi phi is way much better compared to phuket,at the moment its low season here though it hardly rain,since i arrived in phi phi it only rain twice.Most of the days are sunny,you will love the white sandy beaches here,you can go island hopping as well,it will only cost you 1,500 baht to rent the long tail boat for 6 hrs.Snorkling and diving in phiphi is awesome!Theres few guest houses or hostels here for backpackers and great but pricey resort as well.From phuket it will cost u 350-400 baht to get here.
Let me know if you need more info,il be glad to help. BTW the night life here in phiphi is good,we have different bars by the beach and few places have fire show and black moon party.Some bars offers 1 for 1 buckets of whiskey or vodka all night. :) Have a safe journey.
