we are looking at doing the Inca trail next year. We are very limited for time and this is the best time for us. What is it like in these months.

It will be cold at night and pretty nice (t-shirts) in the day. I trekked in September 2005 and we found that we definitely needed thermals etc for the high altitude camping. We wore everything we had with us! But during the day it's not that cold and you'll be hot from walking anyway. Perhaps 15-20 degrees in the day time? -5 at night.

It's a great time to go, go for it. Definitely wear layers as the temps are variable.
