| New York City | Do multiple destination airline passes exist? Posted: Sat June 28, 2008 09:42 PM UTC
Hi all!
I'll be doing 5-6 weeks in the US and Canada between the 1st of July and the 15th of august. I'll be doing around 8 different cities, and I was wondering if there is anything like an economical multiple-pass on any of the airlines that operate? Hope someone has good news for me! Thanks! |

You can usually buy an airpass that allows a certain number of legs/flights within the US but from memory I think they have to be purchased before you leave. There is one price if you've bought an international ticket with that carrier and another if you haven't. You should go see a (good) travel agent - they'll have more details.

They are known as Visit USA Passes or VUSA. They are from each individual airline. Star Alliance is probably better for your needs, their members are posted here http://www.staralliance.com/en/meta/airlines/index.html
Their North American pass is explained here, http://www.staralliance.com/en/travellers/fare_pro Another option, it may be more expensive, is a Round the World ticket with either Star Alliance or One World. Both are with limited airline partners. Star Alliance has more North American partners United Airlines, Air Canada and US Air. You can buy a RTW mileage ticket with numerous stops; however you will have to return via Asia to Kuwait. http://www.staralliance.com/en/travellers/fare_pro Both options are much better explained by a travel agent. Sorry for the confusing post, I hope you can decifer it, if not ask and I will help

What a great question and some great answers. I am keen for another USA trip and am looking for economical ways of seeing a few different destinations without hiring a car (bit scary driving on the wrong side for a small town Australian.). I am looking into the star alliance website right now!
