| Krabi | How is Railay Beach in October? Posted: Sat June 28, 2008 03:37 PM UTC
Traveling to Thailand in October, the end of the rainy season. Wondering how is the beach at Railay during this time? I get the feeling in order to snorkel, we need to do excursions out to the various islands. How is the beach on the east side of this penninsula?
Thanks for your help! |

I think the question is impossible to answer with any degree of accuracy. In October you take a chance with the weather and sea currents.

Weather is hard to predict but since it's the end of the wet season, I think you'll be okay. November is better, we were there that month last year.
A few things: - Stay on the west side. The east side of Railay used to be a mangrove swamp. We stayed at Railay Bay Resort and Spa. - Snorkel? Go to the other islands. But don't expect too much. Majority of the shallow reefs have all been destroyed. - And expect a LOT of tourists. - Phra Nang Beach is your best option in Railay but be there early in the morning to get a prime spot for your beach blanket. - Limited dining options in Railay. Ravayadee has a couple of great, albeit on the expensive side, restaurants.
