hi my friends,
I''probably move to salzburg at the end of this year,can someone can tell me how is the life there and also how is the people?I m italian,now I live in the suoth of austria and I find here the people vary closed and not friendly.
Can I have also the opinion of the people that live there but are strangers..
the city is really quite big or is just a towm with a center and nothing else like oters cities that I visited here in aut.whith is a good zone to start search a flat..there are dangerous zones..and also is really expensive like here says?

it's a difficult to answer question: yes, people in southern Austria, especially Carintia, are somewhat closed and not that open, compared to the Italian openness, In contrary, Salzburg is one of the very open-minded cities of Austria, used to host many international visitors and also dealing more open with them, yet the Austrian mind does not really compare with the Italian, rather extrovert attitude.
Salzburg is in fact one of the most expensive places in Austria; you may be able to circumvent this fact by trying to settle in one of the Salzburg suburbs; most of them offer very good traffic conditions with short commuting times to the city center.Compared to say, Klagenfurt, Salzburg is about 1,5 as big (150K versus 90K inhabitants). You may start to search at the neighborhoods of Bergheim,Aigen, Liefering or Siezenheim. Good Luck !
