a group of us are planning to visit Trinco in December. One person will need to get back to the airport the next day. Is it possible to rent a car and driver from the Nilaveli Beach Hotel for the return trip for one person? Is it safe?

Hi,
Yes it will be possible and it will be safe. It might cost you quite alot. A cheaper option would be to take a intercity bus which will take you about 6 hours to come to Colombo and then take a cab from Colombo which would cost you about Rs.800/-. Nilanka

Yes its done all the time by guests going back to Colombo but you need to negotiate the price which could be anything from 60 to 100 $US
The journey takes 5/6 hours Why don't you hire a car from colombo for your holiday, try the internet for the best prices. I met one couple who were paying 40 $US per day all inclusive And yes its safe, but the weather won't be very good in December on the east coast
