Blogs and forums on Bali should be able to help you the best, these are usually travellers who go there often.

Sally, you may want to scroll down 13 posts to the one made by Poquita who was asking a similar question to yours. IMHO, your itinerary is way, way too ambitious.

Many folks come to Bali for the first time and with great plans made in advance. Trust me, their plans almost never work out as anticipated. When Shakespeare wrote, “the best laid plans of mice and men are often led astray” he must have been in Bali at that time...as nothing could be more truthful here.

IMHO, it is much better to prioritize those things you may call, “must do” and leave the rest to the maybe list. Hire a good Balinese driver, discuss your itinerary with him, and go with the flow.

Also, absolutely FORGET about going to Trunyan Village. It is nothing more than an embarrassment to Bali, (a mega tourist rip off) and in fact, the area is now totally banned by any legitimate tour operators. If you want to experience a real Bali Aga village, than go to Tenganan instead.

Cheers, and have a great time!

Hi Sally,

It seems like a very tight holiday trip. BTW, how many days u will be in Bali and where is ur check-in? Need to consider those as well coz travelling in Bali really time comsumption due to distance of one place to another.

Best to consider is hire a driver like suggested by Ubudian and that was what I did. Do some research on sight seing places and liase & come to aggreement for price and itinerary with ur driver online b4 ur departure. U can even customize ur own itinerary to fit ur schedule but subject to places choosed. I hired a very nice driver with Unser for 2 days. Once I stepped onto his car, I read him my itinerary & told him what I want to do and go..and there we goes. Pretty easy and convenient! Once reach at desire place, he dropped us and waited outside with his car. Just take ur time as u wish.

It took me 9hrs from Kuta to visit Bedugul-Mengwi Temple, Candikuning Market, Lake Bratan + Lunch, Kintamani-Mount Batur & Tegalalang and check in at Ubud. NO dance show, art & silver+gold smith visit. And it was really exhausted yet SO MARVELLOUS + ENJOYED!!!

Perhaps u can drop to Kuta or Denpasar for some shopping or clubbing..
Recommend u to watch any show/dance during night time as it can save ur daylight :-)

Check ur e-mail and PLEASE go to UBUD...it is a wonderful place :-)
