On July 14th I will be in Chamonix. Will there be celebrations? What should I expect?

There will be celebrations on Bastille Day in every little town and village in France. Most involve all sorts of activities and nearly all involve fireworks in the evening. You will have fun!

Thank you. "Fireworks" is the answer I was hoping for.

There is a world cup climbing competition in Chamonix (home of alpinism) at this time which is always followed by fireworks. There is a party atmosphere, and this is not a 'small town' as you might think ;-) -- it will be very very crowded. Often it is on the 13th, not the 14th, so stop by the office of tourism for more information.
