Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Puerto Princesa City Entrance Fees / Bus or Jeep Fares / Tricycle Fares.....
Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 04:53 AM UTC
Me and my husband are planning to go to Palawan this October. Our itinerary are as follows:

1. Tour of Puerto Princesa city
2. Underground River Tour
3. Honda Bay Tour

We are on a very tight budget, that's why I would plan our expenses there also. I would like to ask some help for those who already traveled there to give us the possible fees and transportation fares we will pay when we get to Puerto Princesa basing on the itinerary given.

Thanks much.

Here's a good page to see for sample itineraries:

Tourism is well-organized in Puerto Princesa so there is no fear of being over-charged as the rates for each activity is posted everywhere. When I was there last, we arranged our tour with the help of the front desk of our inn (casa linda).
1. Underground river tour was P1300/pax.
2. City tour- we rented a tricycle in front of the inn. P400 for the whole tour.
3. Honda Bay - P900/pax. But in our case, we did a DIY Honda Bay tour. We rented a trycycle to take us to the Pier and then rented a boat there for P1000. Since there were 6 of us it came out cheaper. We bought fresh seafood from the public market and had it cooked by our boatmen (for additional fee) on Snake island.

But since the price of gas has increased it might be prudent to add an extra to the prices I told you... ;D

I paid slightly higher fees than Monina, but maybe that's the gas prices being worked in. If you're truly low budget but have a little more time, you can get very inexpensive ground transportation to underground river and stay there cheaply overnight. I'm less clear on Honda Bay but it seems like you'd be able to get there cheaply... but maybe staying is more expensive.

Hi,

Ill also be there this august... so far this is what I have

they'll be increasing tour rates :
city tour - 600
honda bay - 1100
underground - 1500

this was advised by one of the resort that I contacted. I think they the resorts and tour operators are coordinating regarding the price adjustment to observe standard rate.

Hey Chelle. That is one good thing about playing tourist in PP. The rates are regulated by the city government that you don't really need to shop around to get the best rate for tours because it is widely published and followed by all operators. The only difference will be on the little extras that a certain tour operator may provide to attract more costumers.
