| Stockholm | Shopping for camping gear in Stockholm Posted: Thu June 26, 2008 01:01 PM UTC
We are flying into Arlanda at the end of July, spending a couple of days in Stockholm then driving to Malingsbo-Kloten for a canoe-camping trip. Where can we buy pouches of food and meths fuel (ethanol?) for our trangia stove? I wonder if there is a camping shop in Stockholm which might stock them? We are also looking for a good supermarket to stock up.
thanks |

Can't help with the camping tools, but the supermarkets that you can find pretty much everywhere in Stockholm are Coop, Ica, LIDL, Netto and in some bigger places Hemköp. Ica and Coop are the most expensive ones.
If you wanna shop at the supermarket right after your plane landing, there's an ICA Maxi supermarket at Eurostop/Arlandastad, which is located about 5 minutes from Arlanda.

Don't worry, everyone knows where Eurostop/Arlandastad is.
I'm going to ask at work if everyone knows where to find the camping tools.

What people here at work think is that you might find what you're looking for at a place called Naturkompaniet, but they say that the shop is expensive. Their website is http://www.naturkompaniet.se/ but unfortunately it's only in Swedish. However, you might wanna e-mail them and ask (I always pull out the "I'm a tourist" card when contacting companies like that ;)) at order@naturkompaniet.se. You can find the addresses by clicking on "butiker" and then choosing "Stockholm". Then you choose the store you want to see the address of. Sorry I can't be of more help.
