We are travelling by car and would like to take the coast road from Split to Zadar as it looks more scenic. Can anyone tell me what the road is like and is this route advisable?

Hi!
The route is very scenic and the road is perfectly ok. We took it last year all the way from Zadar to Dubrovnik and enjoyed it very much. Just watch out in front of corners. The Croats like to overtake, no matter if there's a bend or a hill coming. We got overtaken by busses and trucks something like 50 meters before a corner. When you slow down before corners where you can't see the traffic on the other side you will be fine. We got used to it so you will, too! Enjoy! Sabs
