Hi Srini
U have a very Indian sounding name. I have an Indian friend by the same name-Srini. I assume, if you are coming from Pokhra, you will be crossing over to India at either Sonauli (if you are heading to either Gorakhpur or Varanasi in India) or Raxaul-Birganj (if you are heading to Muzaffarpur/Patna for further connections into India). Border crossing at Sonauli/Raxaul from Nepal to India or vice versa by road is possible. I have done it several times. It is safe. I dont see any issues. Just be careful about your belongings and should be aware of the place and procedures. Several touts will try to approach you the moment they come to know you are not an Indian. But this is not much of a serious hassle. I havent heard of this confiscation of cameras etc. BK

Yes, I also can’t see you having any major problems once you reach the Sonauli border crossing.
However there have been some recent problems reported concerning the fuel shortage and tourist busses being stoned on the Pokhara – Kathmandu run. So checking that the busses are actually running to Sonauli should be your first priority. Usually there is a tourist bus from Pokhara direct, Check out " Arun Int'l Tours and Travels ", Lakeside, Pokhara. Krishna Paudel who's business it is Very well informed, friendly and his prices are reasonable and he will gladly give you the latest info. Details of how to find him are on page 2 of my Sports Travel Tips I hope that helps a little but if you need more info then please feel free to drop me a line Good Luck Rob
