Places that I wish to visit...PRAGUE,GRAZ,HALLSTATT,SALZBURG,INNBRUCKS.I hve around 18days to do this.Any suggestions on other places that I can go..are welcome. Is my planned itinenary ok? Best ways frm Frankfurt to get to PRAGUE and frm PRAGUE to GRAZ? Can I purchase any cheap/dscounted air tickets from Frankfurt to PRAGUE at the airport? If taking night train, how much will it costs for 02 adults in a cabin? Any discounted tickets sold at the train stn or online? Thanks.

You should look at:

http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/international_guests.shtml

for train timetables, and at the country's own websites for timetables and fares. This website will give you the fare for the Frankfurt>Prague journey, and for any journey originating in Germany..

Austria: http://www.oebb.at/en/index.jsp

Czech Republic:

http://www.cd.cz/static/eng/

Train tickets bought online can sometimes be cheaper, but I do not know of any discounted tickets generally available from stations.

Nor do I know of any discounted airfares at airports. The cheapest fares are purchased online in advance. Budget carrier www.click4sky.com fly Frankfurt>Prague, and there will be other carriers if you google.

Hi You have chosen some great destinations. In Sept'05 we visited most places on your itiniery and had 7 days in Prague, only a few hours in Hallatatt which was far to short, deserves an overnight stay, we moved onto Salsburg that day. The train stops at Hallstatt, the other side of the lake and is met by the ferry. When in Prague purchase the Transport Pass, it is cheap and public transport is magnificent.

If you enter Prague through the airport there is an airport bus 119 which takes you to the city metro, about a 15 to 20 minute ride, I think it might be free??? but we had our transport pass. You are welcome to view my pages, you may find something that helps.

Good Luck,
Mike

i would fly from frankfurt to prague i was there last month and flew lufthansa for $100 round trip. in the czech republic your main transportation option is by train. if you have time consider a side trip to cesky krumlov. it is a three hour train ride so it is best to spend the night there but krumlov is one of the czech republic's most interesting towns. for train info google "die bahn". when in austria i recommend renting a car, the highways are excellent and there are so many interesting villages to explore. to get to austria from prague i suggest taking a train to linz then renting a car. you can go south to vienna and north to salzberg from linz. you should be able to find an affordable flight from linz back to frankfurt.

Hi,

the overnight train CNL departs from Frankfurt(Main)Süd (southern station) at 22.19 arriving Prague 8.18. If there's still available Spar Night tariff it costs 39 euros per person, other fares for this train are slightly over 100euros p.p. See www.bahn.de for all details and ticket purchase online.

As far as I know there're only 2 carriers from Frankfurt International to Prague: Lufthansa and Czech Airlines plus Czech Airlines' lowcost Click4sky.com
Budget flight usually take off from smaller regional airports like Hahn.

Standard rail ticket frm Prague to Graz costs 57,60 euro per person. Cheaper fares are sold at Czech Railways' e-shop for about 19 euros, but there's still no english version of ticket sale system. Try esop.cd.cz, use a dictionary or write me e-mail if you need assistance. You need to register with e-shop first.

Enjoy your trip
