Iguassu Hotels in Iguassu (Also question on trip to Paraguay)
Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 02:32 PM UTC
HI all,
my wife and I and a colleague are looking for a comfortable hotel ($50 to $80 a night) near (within a couple of kilometers) the Mabu Thermas and Resort in Foz do Iguassu. We'll be there the first week of August for 6 days (is this high season for tourists within Brazil?).

While there we want to spend a day or two traveling in Paraguay. How long is the trip by bus to Asuncion from Foz do Iguasssu?

saludos,
Grumpus

august is not high season in foz, so don´t worry about finding space there.

I also stayed at the San Martin with 3 friends and we all felt that it was great value for money. You can't beat the location as you are walking distance from the Falls.

August is still winter so do not expect hot weather. Tends to rain a lot at that time of year. So expect cool and damp conditions.

You should have no problem finding a hotel at Foz do Iguassu.

The bus journey should not take more than half a day (but is just a two lane road where much can happen).

Thanks, Cachaseiro, pomerol, Porteno and Pieter_jan_v.
The San Martin sounds like an option. Any idea how for it is from the Mabu Thermas resort. We have to attend a conference there and want to mimize travel time within the city.

thanks,
Grumpus.

When I went to BA, in the Garden House hostel they gave a free rider guide and thanks to that I got to stay in a Hostel called El Güembe, in Iguazu. Very good experience in both hostels indeed.
