Hi,

I think you are talking about Ajmer Sharif.. which is the Dargah of Sheikh Salim Chisti... a sufi saint..

If so.... you can catch a train from Delhi i.e. Ajmer Shatabdi (early morning) and you will reach at Ajmer by the afternoon.... same train back to delhi would be possible the next day as it is scheduled to depart from Ajmer in the noon... you can stay overnight in Pushkar which is really a nice tourist destination (15 kms from Ajmer).....

You could also hire a car to go to Ajmer from Delhi, which would be convienient especially if you want to visit other places in Rajasthan like Jaipur,Pushkar etc..You could halt at one of the places and make it a three day or five day trip according to the places you want to visit.
The Ajmer Dargah is very famous and Pushkar is a beautiful place which has the temple of Lord Bramha(which is very rare)
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Vpas

Hi again,

I apologize for something... Dargah Ajmer Shareef is the shrine of sufi saint 'Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti' not sheikh salim chishti...

And i agreed with vpas... Jaipur is also a very good option if thinking to go Ajmer by road...
