Munich Travel Forum

I will be in Munich for 2 days. What are the must see places? Also, I have half day driving time from Fussen to Fruankfurt via the Romantic Road - what is the 1 or 2 cities which you would recommend I stop by?

Depends on what interest you. The town is lovely, dont miss out on seeing the Glockenspeil in the Rathaus, just watch for pickpockets. And if time permits and you are interested a trip to Eagles Nest (built for Hitler) in Berschelsgarten is a stunner. Plenty of beautiful, scenery, and the ingenuity of the building itself is unbelievable. Tours start near the main railway station.

Hello,your half day travel Fussen to Frankfurt via (B17/B25) is very ambitious,
It will take 5-6 hours however, towns always worth a visit along this route are,
Augsburg (old Roman City),Donauwoerth (first toll brige across the Danube),
Noerdlingen (old walled in town), Rothenburg-ob der-Tauber ( fantastic medieval
Walled town, well worth a half day visit) finally Wuerzburg, thats the whole German length of the Romantische Strasse, from here take Autobahn A3 to Frankurt,
Note,the airport is right on the A3. Enjoy your trip!

Rottenburg for sure. Christmas shop and museum, Crime museum, just a pleasant walk through this nice medival town!

Dont miss Bavaria.The village of Oberamagau is amazing with its cute houses,mural painted walls.The castles near by of King Ludwig.They have lovely cuckoo clocks too here.

Hi - in Munich I'd recommend the Residenz (get the audio guide tour), Schloss Nymphenburg (don't miss the Marstallmuseum), Deutsches Museum, and in Marienplatz, St. Michael's Church (check out the crypt in the basement) and Church of Our Lady (climb to the top of the dome). Happy Travels!
