Hi - August won't be beach weather. Although it might not rain all day, you won't see much of the sun. In addition, most of the restaurants and all of the beach shacks, as well as the night markets, etc. will be closed. You'd be better spending your time in another part of India. Happy Travels!

Hi,
I suggest you to go to Ladakh if particularly not looking for beach holidays... it is the best place to visit during this period as the monsoon is not able to reach at this part of Himalayas.. the weather would be so pleasant .. a little warmer during the day (15°C - 25°C)... and a little cold during the night (0°C - 10°C)... you will see more and more buddhist monasteries.... trekking & camping are the main attractions.... Hi
Am in Goa at the moment and the monsoon isn't turning out as expected. It's very mild with rain mostly at night. Last year the rainfall was extremely heavy with no let-up at all for 3 months. It's difficult to judge but monsoon here in my opinion is lovely. You should get some dry days but it would be a shame to miss Goa out because of monsoon. Pack a raincoat and go with the flow (so to speak!) Enjoy
