| Istanbul | Beach resort in Turkey Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 06:35 AM UTC
Would someone please make a suggestion...I will be in Istanbul in early July and would love to get to a beach for swimming/fun before my meeting starts. Can someone recommend a beach (are fleas are problem in the MiddleEast?) with nice sand and clean swimming water? Thanks!

According to Istanbul city guide there are 86 beaches in Istanbul and around. Of these to find clean water and a sandy beach is rare. Two main choices are Sile on the Black sea on the Asian side and Kilyos also on the Black sea but on the European side. Fleas not a problem. Check my Sile pages for directions there, it is very easy but will take about 2.5hrs total(139) bus from kadikoy or Harem, or to Kilyos 3.5hrs, Topkapi-Sariyer(341T) bus 127mins,Taksim-Sariyer(25T) 125mins, Metro to 4Levent then (41) bus 120 mins then bus (151) to Kilyos 80 mins.

First of all I suggest you the beach clubs instead of public beaches. You can get all the services (food, music, drink, etc) from the beach clubs. In the public areas, you may not be in comfortable. And if you give the dates, I can suggest you the right one that can be some activities in there.
