Hi jamma121 - There are probably better places to do watersports than Barcelona, but they are available. It really depends on whether you want to be on an organised day out or just hire a jet-ski - it's worth doing an ordinary Google search to see what's out there. As for the 'things to do' part of your question, where do I start?! I guess you'll want to see the Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas etc? There's a lot to see out there and it really depends on what sorts of things you and your wife like. To be honest, your best bet is to look the city up on VT and have a browse through it, as there are hundreds of tips there (if you would prefer to look at 1 member's site, I should probably recommend my own but Belsaita's is much better!!).

No, sorry, there's nothing to do in Barcelona and no informaition on the Internet about it either.
Oh, wait, on second thought: Some suggestions: La Sagrada Familia temple, Hospital Sant Pau which a lot of people don't see; take the Avinguda Gaudi from Sagrada Familia straight there. Also El Palau de la Musica for a tour and concert. Quatre Gats for some history, food and drink. Carrer Montcada for the Museu Picasso, Xampanyet bar, and Santa Maria del Mar church (wine by the glass at the wine bar in front of the church). Barri Gotic for a trip back in time. Visit the main cathedral and don't miss the cloister; see if you can find the little Plaza Sant Felip Neri nearby. Sardana dance at 1PM on Sundays in front of the cathedral. The newly renovated Mercat Santa Caterina as well as the well-known Boqueria market on Ramblas. The Museu Maritim. Unfortunately the Palau Guell is closed. The Gaudi and other Modernist buildings on Passeig de Gracia. Nice walk: continue up Passeig de Gracia from P.Catalunya. Passeig de Gracia becomes Gran de Gracia. Continue all the way up to Plaza Lesseps. There you can visit the Gracia area or head to another location. Plaza Lesseps is a bus and metro hub. ...the Gracia neighborhood (metro: Fontana, Lesseps, and others). The beach at Nova Icaria and the promenade that goes south along the water from there to Barceloneta (nice walk). A seafood dinner on a Sunday afternoon outdoors at a good Barceloneta restaurant (get a local recommendation). The used book and music sale at Mercat Sant Antoni on Sunday morning. The Magic Fountains at Montjuic. Also in Montjuic: the Caixa Forum exhibit center, the Mies Van de Rohe Pavilion, the Miro museum. A good Catalan meal at Can Culleretes on Carrer Quintana near Ramblas. Well, these are just some of my favorites. If you fit in even a few of them, you'll be doing fine. Check out the weekly entertainment publication "El Guia de Ocio," available at any kiosk. Bon viatge!

www.virtourist.com is a good site to look at, too. Really good pictures and easy to use. (and typing it in wrong is how I accidentally found the VT site, many years ago!)
