| Brussels | Week end in Belgium Posted: Tue June 24, 2008 02:00 PM UTC
Hi there
I am planning to spend the week end in belgium and a bit unsure where to go, what to do and other stuff.I will be arriving from london by Euro line and will stop in bussels north rail station. Can you please help with the following: 1. Is it enough to visit brussels in one day? 2. Where is the cheapest place to stay and accessibile to the city centre and all its attractions? 3. Any youth hostels/backpackers accomodation you recommend? 4. Since I will be in belgium for 2 days only, what other city you recommend to do in one day? 5. Where is the best place to hang out at night in brussels...nightlife, pubs, bars 6. Can you buy a 2 day travel card which allows you to travel unlimited on trains, trams and bus in brussels? Thank you in advance |

by all means, do visit Brugge if you have time. It is a very beautiful place! people in VT intro me and I have no regrets going there! I was in Belgium with my hubby last yearr around September.
Besides Brussels,Brugge, Paris ,Germany, we also went to Gent. I shall say, I like Brugge and Germany best :) Rent a bicycle and there you go... explore the city! See my Europe photos :)

well the decisions depends on several factors:
1/how long will be those 2 days? because you really need 2 full days if you want see at least a little bit without rushing too much. 2/what are your interests? if you like musea, you need more time then if you just want to do some sightseeing. 3/is this the one and only time you will make it to Belgium or do you plan to come again? If it is your last chance then grab the opportunity to visit both and have just a taste, if not, take the full dive in Brussels and come again for some other cities. Gent, Leuven, and for sure Antwerp are not to miss cities to visit (and so many others because there are quite some nice places in Belgium)
