Hi,

I wonder if some one can help me. I am a UK citizen and I currently live in the UK with my wife who is a Chinese national, before she came here she lived in Shenzhen, we would both like to go back there and live and maybe work for about a year, the problem is I can only get a tourist visa which lasts 3 months, so I would have to go back to Hong Kong every 90 days to get it renewed. I would like to know. firstly does being married to a Chinese citizen give me the right to get a visa for a longer period, if not how would I be able to get one, and would it be multi-entry as I would like to be able to travel back to the UK now and again during my stay in China. Also is my wife free to travel back and forth to the UK, she has a uk settlement visa which lasts 2 years. I hope someone can help me with this as we hope to move out to China quite soon.

As rules and regulations change and are complicated at the best of times, I think these are questions that you should ask both the UK authorities and also the Chinese ones, rather than relying on answers from VT. It's better to have the answer staight from "the horse's mouth".
