Hi there
Last year we stayed at the Tourist Motel (reasonably priced) and Hotel Africana (dearer). Can anyone recommend nice accommodation that's also in the centre, priced approx mid-way between the two? (But not the Fang Fang). We are travelling with our 2 children.

It is along the lines of the Hotel Africana price wise.

For some reason I have seen reviews about hassle by prositutes here. They do operate across the street near the Sheraton, but never bother anyone. Besides the hotel has loads of security. It is located right in the middle of everything. There are not a lot of good mid-priced hotels in the centre unfortunately.

I quite liked the Speke Hotel but have not been there for a couple of years. It used to be reaaly good, central and relatively cheap.

You can also try Grand Iperial Hotel, its across Speke Hotel, Hotel Equatorial, Mosa court arpartments,Regency Hotel, they are also situated in the city centre. Wish you a nyc stay!
