Ko Phangan Visa run info.
Posted: Sun June 22, 2008 10:10 AM UTC
Hi I'll be in Ko Phangan for another few weeks, but I need to make my visa run to Burma next week. Can anyone suggest a travel agent that will offer me less than 2000 baht to do this?\thanks!

Why not do it yourself? I did it in mid-May and the boat ride was quite scary, with the waves rocking the boat sideways!! Maybe you can consider going to Malaysia instead. It's more interesting, I think.

I'd like to do it by myself but haggling with a driver from Chompon to Ranong is such a hassle and it only cost 200 baht less to it yourself. Malaysia is much too far away and I don't want to be on a boat for that long at this time of year. Plus I need to get back to this island ASAP for other reasons.

I rarely use travel agents to travel around unless I can't find another way to do it. I'm sure there are quite a few of the buses that heads to Chumporn. Once you arrive at Ranong, it is just one motorbike taxi or songtaew ride away to the pier. But if you are in a hurry of getting back, then I guess you'll have to deal with a private return transfer then...
