I need to make a reservation for bicycle carriage on the EC 174 leaving Bratislava at 08:12 and arriving in Decin at 13:56 each day. I intend to go in July, coming from Austria on the Danube Cycling trail.

The EC 174 is the only train that carries bicycles on this route fast and without multiple changes, plus it is the cheapest and only option for me for getting to my home in East Germany on the same day. But reservations for bicycle carriage on EC trains need to be made in advance.

Is there any way to purchase the reservation and the train ticket over the internet?

For Bratislava-Dresden on the same train I could call Deutsche Bahn, but I rather not pay the 60 EUR extra that this would cost me.

AFAIK, it is really not possible :-( Neither Slovak or Czech Railways do sell international tickets online (with some exceptions not covering your need).

Ok, I need this train for the 14th of July. Any idea on how to get my hands on this ticket?

Howdy - what a bummer! I tried to find the phone # for the Information office at the Bratislava, Hlavna Stanica, because they might know (and I do know they speak English there). But no dice.... At least here is a # to call, which is the Info service of the Slovak railways: (00 421)(2) 50 58 75 65. Informačná kancelária 6:30 to 20:00. Maybe they can help. Best of luck!

To anybody looking at this I got the reservation for the bicycle from Deutsche Bahn. I called their Bicycle Hotline and then pulled the reservation out of a DB ticket vending maschine in Germany, price was 4 EUR and I had to pay with EC debit card or alternatively with credit card.

The ticket for the train I bought in Bratislava at the main train station.
