The nearest brazilian infrastructure to Manu and Puerto Maldonado is a roadway.
This road connects Bolivia (very near to Peru) with Brazil and serves the brazilian city Assis Brasil in Acrean brazilian state. Assis Brasil is a triple border Brazil/Bolivia/Peru. From Assis Brasil you may go to Iņapari/Peru and get a taxi to Pueto Maldonado. The brazilian part of the road is paved. The other brazilian crossing to Peru is by BR-364 near to Rodrigues Alves city. I believe between Assis Brasil and Rodrigues Alves the only transportation is boat. The jungle reigns there.
