Always check the "Best Buy" and now there is one located at the Eatons Center.
There is also a "Future Shop" right across the street. I think there are quite a few electronic stores in the College/Spadina area as well. As for clothing "Winners" is always a good choice for womens clothes, "H&M" has good prices as well, and "Sears" and "The Bay" can have great deals, even if the last two aren't considered to be trendy or cool.

Ask in the stores before shopping about any deals going on; I shopped at The Bay last week only to get to the checkout to be told I could get a second item at 50% off (having purchased something at full price) - after lining up for 20 minutes and tired, I couldn't be bothered!

Forget the chain stores. Go directly to Pacific Mall in Markham: http://www.pacificmalltoronto.com/
Try a place called Canada Computers. www.canadacomputers.com. Cheap electronics and computer gear. But, don't expect service or a warranty. Probably the rudest, least attentive staff you'll ever meet. But hey, no pain, no gain. Or: SIG Electronics - www.sigelectronics.com

I would agree with the Pacfic mall advice. Go to Markham and visit Pacific Mall/Market Village. These places are full of kiosks filled with the latest gadgets, many from Asia. As with many Chinese places, you can also likely bargain with them. Many places however take cash only, so be prepared for this.
You can take the TTC (Toronto Public Transport) to Market Village. I used to take the Steeles East bus from Finch Station.

I could only recommend Canada Computers but not Pacific Mall. Although prices in P-mall can be cheaper, I am not a fan of a smackingly good deal since most of the times it come with an unwanted perks such as refurbished product which remain my top concern.
I live in Toronto and I never buy things from P-mall. I buy most of my stuffs from a reputable seller on eBay or Canada Computers.
