Would walking to St. Louis Cathedral from the Chateau Sonesta hotel be advised?
If not, what would be taxi rates for this distance? Thanks. |

It's only about 6 blocks away- it's a very easy walk thru the French Quarter. I would think most taxi drivers wouldn't want to take you since is is so short, unless someone has a physical disability. The only time you might not want to walk would be very late at night and even then there's usually a lot of activity on the main streets of the Quarter.

Yep, I have to agree...it's only about 700 yards, along the busiest streets in the Quarter...walking is the way to go...

Walking - absolutely! The French Quarter is very compact and easily walked. As with any major city, stay on the well-traveled and well-lit streets, you'll be fine. And have a wonderful time - New Orleans is a great city!
