Re: Query about prices in Malta Posted: Fri June 20, 2008 05:46 PM UTC
Like anywhere Touristy, there are "Tourist" and "Local" prices.
As are prices paid in "Venues" and prices paid for, in a "normal" shop.
"Normal" prices are no different than most European places.
However Bar prices are high, especially if you are getting entertainment included.
Expect to pay as if you were home in the same circumstances.
Coffee, depending on whether you just want Nescafe or real-coffee, depends on where you drink it.
If it is "Al-Fresco" you pay high, if at a local cafe it is low.
Again: expect to pay as if you were at home under similar circumstances.
I suspect you will survive.
I do find that budgeting so close for a holiday defeats the purpose but we must make sure not to ruin your calculations.
Oh...a bus ticket is 0.47 Euro Cents!
A Heineken is 1,5 Euro in Tourist places, approx. 0.8 in normal places.
