Paphos Buses, Taxis and Restaurants?
Posted: Thu June 19, 2008 01:25 PM UTC
Me & my boyfriend are off to Paphos in about a weeks time, we're staying in a friend's apartment at Geroskipou/Yeroskipou and I've been looking at the bus timetable and found there is only one bus that goes through there and the route is...

Route: Karavella parking, Market, Gladstonos, Gr. Digeni, Athinon, Arch, Makarios, Yeroskipou

Which would be the best stop to get off at if we wanted to go to the Harbour?

Also does anyone have any reccommendations for restaurants, ones that do salads, chips or pizzas are fine!

Are the taxis fairly reliable, will the come pick you up from most places?

Sorry for all the questions, it's the first time we've been away together on our own and we're a bit nervous! Thanks in advance :)

You will love Paphos as it has a lively Bar Street (pubs and clubs) a relaxing harbour (bars and cafes and walks) and a lovely seafront walk. A bit further out is Coral Bay (the best beaches).

The restaurants are virtually all reasonably priced that I could see - even our hotel which was fantastic allowed visitors in for a buffet dinner at £8 Cyprus (its Euros now)- and those dinners were FAB.
The harbour houses lots of bars and restauarants and there are pizza/pasta places a-plenty too.
I believe Taxis are regulated and all charge the same sort of fixed prices in town. Best to check though.

You are a bit of a way out from Pafos in Yeroskipou, but the village itself has restaurants/bars, as I recall.

You won't have any difficulty in finding plenty of places to eat, although prices are no longer as low as they once were. The harbour area is the most pricey, so best avoided; walk (some distance) away from the seafront to find better value (and, often, better food).

the # 10 and the # 15 busses both go by the Harbour. You can't miss it, there is a fort and a marina.

There is a pizza express in town, just a 5 minute walk from the Harbour since that is what you were interested in.

There are quite a few reasonable restaurants, look for linnens and candles. We recommend that you avoid any places that have a "3 course special". they tend to be lowest bidder food geared towards tourists not planning to return.

There is an indian place along the front road close to the Harbour, but I cannot remember the name.

Have a great time and safe travels!
