Panglao Island Cheaper tours and accommodation
Posted: Thu June 19, 2008 10:05 AM UTC
We (group of 5) is planning to go to bohol this last week of july. We wanted to see the sites (countryside sites, panglao island and dolphin watching)however, we we inquire with one agency the includes all this package plus room it cost as around 8k.

1) is 8k reasonable if the accommodation is at dumaluan beach resort?
2) if we just look for a place to stay in bohol and just talk to the resort if they could tour us around bohol, will that be cheaper?
3) where is the best place to stay in bohol that is affordable?
4) can you recommend locals who could help us tour around bohol?
5) How much is the cost of a motorized banca going to the islands?

Thanks... your replies will help us a lot.

Is 8K per person or for the group? If the latter, it is reasonable. For more affordable accommodation, there are inns in Tagbilaran or if you like beachfront, stay in Panglao. You may check out Playa Blanca.

8k? That's expensive. Try contacting Tata Rabe for a fair deal: 09173060608. I think mga 5k per person lang yun sa kanya.

These multi-site tours go for about 2500 per person, so for 5 the 8k's cheap. IF it's 8k each, as Asian Belle says, you should look around a bit.

Note that Bohol is actually pretty spread out. Tagbilaran town and Panglao look close by on a map, but they can feel very far apart if you're dealing with transportation between. You can get rooms as cheap as 300-500 in Panglao if you walk around/ask around.

Hi, been in Bohol just last week and I'm having so much fun with my friends and colleagues. I would have to say that 8k is good enough though.. because we stayed at Bohol Beach Club. Yes it's quite expensive but i think it's worth it. The place is SWEET! The beach is FABULOUS!
We had a great tour guide/driver for our tour, Spencer. We actually got his number from one forum in the net and his got the best recommendations amongst all and he really is! I don't know if I'm allowed to post numbers here but you may visit his website. It's www.boholspencertours.com.
You may also get some driver at the airport and may probably get a cheaper ones but i think it would be very risky. Taxis are also available in the City but you have to pay double of the meter if you go outside the City. Tricycles are also cheap but it's going to consume a lot of time because they run slow.
I Say Bohol is blessed with nature and of good, friendly and hospitable people but... NO NIGHT LIFE. Enjoy though!
