Livorno Travel Forum

Hi,

I will arrive in Florence by 5.30 p.m. and would like to go to Sassetta. I found out that at this time trains are only going to Livorno (7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.).
How much is a taxi from Livorno to Sassetta? Is it better to stay over night in Livorno and take the train next morning? (so far as I know the train goes only to Castagnetto Carducci-Donoratico).

the would charge you 200 euros. what u can do is take a train to castagneto, you can sleep there... and then you can arrange a bus (cheap) or a cab ( very expensive too) from there to sassetta.

this is a regional train: R 11727. If your flight is on time, You probably wanna be dropped off at Firenze Rifredi train station, it's closer to the airport. anyways, this train looks like perfect for you. You don't have connections so you can sit relax and get in castagneto by dinner time.

thank you for your quick answer. my flight is arriving at 17:20 so I don't think I will reach the train at 17:27. But on the website you linked I found other connections, unfortunately I do not speak Italian so I can only guess...but I think I have to change trains on the way to Castagnetto Carducci-Donoratico.

maybe you have to change train in either pisa or livorno.
anyways, the thing is... there will be LONG lines at the ticket counters in florence.. so i don't actually know
