Hi,
I've left out this question : How do I get from tashkurgan to pakistan border by bus and what will be the timing for the return journey?

Does it requires permit? If yes, how and where to appy?
I will only be travelling up to the border to enjoy the view and then back to tashkurgan.

Any reply is great.

Hi,

Id do not know much about the questions, you asked further down this forum. I just try to answer a bit:

From Urumqi to Yining you'll just got first to Sairam Hu and through the fruit valley to Yining. You can stay overnight at Sairam HU.

For the Pakistan Border:
There should be public busses from Tashkurgan to the chinese Check post Pirali. To go to Khunjerab Pass (the border to Pakistan) you'll cross some area between the countries and you'll need a permit for that. Maybe it is possible to get it organised in Kashgar. Try at Johnny's cafe at the Qinibag Hotel in Kashgar. #

You should get your final informations already in Kashgar. The tour to the border to Pakistan takes about 3 days to go and come back.

How much time do you have altogether? Distances are far and roads are not always in good conditions.

I only have about 17 days in xinjiang itself, but we don't intend to stay very long in one place..

btw, how long do i need to visit yining, sayram lake and fruit valley?

I think from urumqi you'll need at least 3 days for Sairam Lake and Yining.

I have no idea. There are public busses from Urumqi to Sairam Lake. But I do not know about the schedules.

You can't go any further than Tashkurgan if you don't have a visa for Pakistan.
Seriously though, going as far as Tashkurgan is quite enough.
