Can anyone advise how much the taxi fare from Hue to Da Nang airport will cost us? How long is this ride?

It's a bit of a hike, About 100 k's. There are plenty of buses that go there that only cost a few dollars.

We booked a car transfer from the hotel and it cost us US$65 but very comfortable. But compared to the trip getting to Hue from Hoi An which we paid US$45 - this is expensive. So you might want to ask around.

Note you should ensure that the price you get include the tolls payable along the way.

Also, the view on the mountain road between Da Nang and Hue is beautiful, if you take the tunnel you will miss a good part of it. Given the distance, the journey may longer than expected due to the strict speed limits. The mountain way is about 3hrs, by tunnel 2+ hours.

I could not fly from Hanoi to Da Nang a few years ago, so went to Hue instead. I think the ride was just 2 or 3 hours from the Hue airport to Da Nang. Why not use the airport in Hue? They take standard size jets.
