| Nice | Nice or Antibes Posted: Wed June 18, 2008 10:41 AM UTC
I am coming to Cote d'Azur for 10 days and wanted to rent a self catering apartment for one week. I like going to the beach to swim and chill but am not a total sun worshipper!
Not too sure about the pebbly beach in Nice - would I better off staying in Antibes and having the sandy beach nearby and going to Nice on day trips? Thanks for any help. |

You are right about Nice pebbly beaches. However as regards Antibes, the question is whether you are bothered by how many other people you are sharing the beach with. Antibes gets pretty crowded when we hit main season and we are talking families, young kids and lots of teenagers when schools out. Its very busy. If that's ok with you, fine, but its not a "chill-out" experience.
It pretty much comes down to how much travelling and exploring you are interested in doing as well. Nice is the travel hub and from there its easy to reach not only other good beaches but everywhere else too. Once you settle in Antibes, travelling around is more burdensome, though not impossible.

Hi
Depending on when you are going to arrive try - holiday rentals.co.uk - property no 90626 - very reasonable price in a good location - we are going in September - let me know how you get on

Hi,
if it's just beaches you want Antibes is probably the better choice. However, Nice is bigger and many desitinations are within easy reach. If you look for a small cheap self-catering flat I can recommend www.nizza.loctype.com. Have fun!
